Svenja Herrmann was born in Frankfurt in 1973 and grew up in Oberägeri, Switzerland. She studied Literature and History of Law, in Zurich. She has received several awards for her works, among them, the Zurich Creation Prize 2015 (Werkbeitrag des Kantons Zürich), The Landis & Gyr Foundation Scholarship, 2015 (Atelierstipendium der Landis & Gyr Stiftung), The Literary Pearl of Switzerland 2010 (Schweizer Literaturperle), the Literatur auf Abruf Lyric Prize Transit 2009 and the Support Contribution of the Zurich Canton 2007 (Förderbeitrag des Kantons Zürich), among others.
In her work as a writer and publisher, she published several literary works, such as Die Ankunft der Bäume (The Arrival of Trees, 2017, Wolfbach editorial), Ausschwärmen (Dispersing, 2010, Wolfbach editorial) or 60 Jahre Menschenrechte Human, 2008, Salis editorial).
