Seventeen
The new sprouts better
NB
A group of young men
they were not even twenty
brought hope
with the longing
of more peaceful dawns
they pursued the sun
as if there were no light
they raked the embers
of planets with remote futures.
They wanted a new people
a homeland germinating
a world without chains
a pure woman
a free child
a man born standing for war
Perhaps deluded
Utopia in democracy
comrades of madness
patriots of anger
martyrs of today
they were seventeen
we’re going to cremate them in the morning
