Anthology of the Festival

Since its foundation in 1991, 222 poets from 50 countries have participated in the International Poetry Festival in Medellín, among them :

. 163 poets from 20 countries in America as follows : 80 from Colombia, 10 from Cuba, 9 from Peru, 8 from Argentina, 6 from Chile, 6 from Venezuela, 6 from Brazil, 5 from Mexico, 5 from Costa Rica, 4 from North America, 4 from Ecuador, 4 from Panama, 4 from Uruguay, 2 from Guatemala, 1 from El Salvador, 1 from Nicaragua, 1 from Paraguay and 1 from Puerto Rico.

. 36 poets from 16 countries in Europe, as follows : 6 from France, 5 from Spain, 4 from Italy, 3 from Switzerland, 2 from Bosnia, 2 from The United Kingdom, 2 from Austria, 2 from Luxembourg, 2 from Portugal, 2 from Rumania, 1 from Germany,1 from Bulgaria, 1 from Greece, 1 from Holland, 1 from Hungary , and 1 from Iceland.

. 14 poets from 7 countries in Asia as follows : 4 from Japan, 4 from The People's Republic of China, 2 from India, 1 from Iran, 1 from Russia, 1 from Indonesia and 1 from Tuva.

. 6 poets from 6 countries in Africa thus : 1 from Angola, 1 from South Africa, 1 from The Congo, 1 from Cameroon, 1 from Mozambique and 1 from Egypt.

. 4 Australian poets, from Oceania.
